Experience the mix of old and new with TS Crew’s No Dragon No Lion, a lion dance circus that offers a fresh take on cultural performance.

Taking pace on Saturday 27th July at 5pm, this high-energy show is a key event in the broader Warrington Arts Festival, a month-long celebration of creativity and culture. The festival will host a variety of performances, exhibitions and workshops throughout July, so be sure to check out the full programme to discover other exciting events happening at Time Square and beyond.

No Dragon No Lion, a standout winner of the Asian Arts Award for Best Show at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is not your typical lion dance. It combines a classical lion dance and Chinese opera with the adrenaline-pumping rhythms of beatboxing. Audiences will be amazed by the impressive athleticism showcased through martial arts, tricking and parkour, in a blend of old and new that celebrates and redefines cultural identity, making it a must-see performance.

TS Crew has crafted a performance that both honours its roots and carves out a new, dynamic cultural expression. The show promises to explore heritage and innovation, captivating audiences of all ages.

In addition to the performance there will be free Circus Skills workshops ran by Circus Sensible between 12noon – 4pm

Activities include: Juggling with balls, scarves and clubs, Plate spinning, Poi, Devilstick, Chinese Diabolo, beginners Stilts, Feather balancing, Cigar boxes, Fun Wheels, Chinese ribbons etc.

Workshops don’t need to be booked and families can turn up on the day and take part
